Please take the time to read these terms and conditions because you should not use any of our services unless you agree to these general terms and our privacy policy.

We take the security of personal information very seriously and actively support the Government help to ensure tw provides you with adequate protection. So we can provide a high level of service, it is important for us to understand how our visitors use our websites, and so we will collect information about you. We will always act reasonably and in accordance with our privacy policies.

What happens if things go wrong? Given the nature of our website and the wide range of information and services we provide, it’s possible that every now and again things may not go as planned. If we make a mistake, rest assured we will do our best to put things right as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to compensate you for any loss you may suffer as a result of:

any mistake we make with the content on our website;

any parts of our website being unavailable or inaccessible;your use of any organisation’s website that you can access from our website (including any purchase from that organisation and any use they make of the personal data you provide to them);

the downloading of any material from any of our website; the content added to our website by people using our interactive services; and inaccurate pricing information, including any price predictions.

English law shall apply to all our terms and conditions and any disputes must be heard in an English Court. Nothing in any of terms and conditions affect your legal rights.

5. Claiming the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant.

 

The Government is supporting the growth of electric vehicles by helping with the cost of installing home charging points. It will provide a 75 per cent grant, up to a maximum of £500. Certain offers on this website are limited to customers who meet the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) eligibility criteria for the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme.

 

It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet these conditions, and we ask you to confirm this by ticking a box in the 'Check Out' section of the website. If you complete a purchase from the website and it is later discovered that you are not eligible for the grant, we will be out of pocket and will take steps to recover our losses in full, including the costs of recovery. The Government may also take action against you. Please check your eligibility carefully before you make a purchase that relies on the grant.

 

Electric Village is accredited by the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to access the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme funding. The grant subsidises the cost of installing a residential electric vehicle charging unit for the owners/primary users of electric vehicles. The grant allows us to reclaim £500 towards the cost of supplying a unit, installed by us.

To qualify for the Homecharge Scheme funding you confirm that you are the designated main user / owner of an eligible electric vehicle (EV) as listed by OLEV, after the 1st April 2015, or have an EV on order.

 

You confirm that the installation address specified on the application form is a residential address in England, Scotland or Wales and that you either own the property or have the consent from the landlord for the unit to be installed.

 

You also confirm that there is garage or other suitable private off street parking within your premises, compliant to the conditions set by OLEV, allowing you to charge your vehicle safely and without creating a trip or other health and safety risk to yourself or any other party, with modern household electrics.

6. Prices quoted by Electric Village assume the installation of a non-communicating unit with
standard domestic installation costs.

Standard installation costs include a cable run under 15 meters to be fixed flush to the wall (cable not trenched or hidden behind walls, through joists, under tiles/carpets/floorboards, aerial or subterranean runs), with the installation carried out by one man within 6 hours.

Prices also assume that correct electrical connections and protections are available on the property, and that no civil works or electrical remedial works are required. Installation is carried out in accordance with BS7671 17th edition wiring regulations, IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 2nd Edition.

7. You declare that you will not claim the VAT back on the installation of the unit from HMRC.

8. You give Electric Village and/or its designated contractors permission to apply for the government Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant on your behalf and that you may be contacted in the future by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) or its agents to conduct a random check.

 9. The usage of the equipment supplied is restricted to charging electric cars and we reserve the right to disable or remove the unit in the event of any abuse or misuse of the equipment.

10. You agree to indemnify Electric Village and/or its designated contractors against any claim (including consequential losses) arising from the installation, use or misuse of the unit.

 

11. Your unit is covered by the manufacturer's warranty from the date of installation. The warranty covers technical faults identified with the unit but does not cover external damage, general wear and tear or accidental damage caused by an external factor. We reserve the right to replace or repair a faulty charger within the warranty period.

 12. Upon installation and completion of the all necessary paperwork, the ownership of the charging unit becomes yours, subject to these Terms and Conditions. In the event the Terms and Conditionsare breached by you, Electric Village reserves the right to remove the unit, or disable it. You agree to indemnify us for all costs incurred by us in doing so.

13. The terms of the Homecharge Offer may be amended and/or withdrawn by Electric Village, at any time, without prior notice.

 

14. Returns and refunds

If there are shortages or damages to the Goods you receive which have occurred whilst in transit, or there is any other error with your order (such as you have received the wrong product), you must notify us within 7 days of receipt of your delivery giving us full details of any such shortages, damages or errors with the Goods or your order. You must promptly return any damaged Goods or Goods received in error to us together with all packaging. We will reimburse you for the postage costs incurred in returning such Goods. Where we accept that there has been damage in transit, a shortage or an error in the Goods despatched, we shall make up any shortfall, error or damage to your order free of charge as soon as reasonably possible. After the original 7 day period has expired, you will be deemed to have accepted the Goods and any attempt to return the Goods after this time will be at our discretion.

 

If during the 7 day period the Goods are found to be defective, you must inform us within this time of the defect. We will arrange for collection of such Goods or ask you to return the Goods to us at our cost and once we have checked that the Goods are faulty, we will in consultation with you replace the Goods or repair them – or give you a full refund for those defective Goods.

The remedies set out here are your sole and exclusive remedies against us in respect of any claims arising. Any claims that the Goods are defective after the original 7 day period has expired will be dealt with in accordance with the Guarantee.

In all cases where the Goods are returned, they must be returned in their original packaging. You must also have sent an email to info@electric-village.com stating: Order number, Order date, Your Name and Shipping Address and Reason for return of the product(s). Product(s) cannot be returned to us until you receive an email from Electric Village confirming that you can return the goods, as we need to ensure that we have all the relevant information from you beforehand. As long as we receive your email within the 7 day period it will not affect your exceeding this 7 day returns policy.

15. Order cancellation

If you purchase Goods from us and you are a UK/EU consumer, you are able to cancel your order with us for any reason or no reason at all within seven (7) days following receipt of your Goods by providing us with notice. Your rights of cancellation will not apply where you have (i) purchased software from us which is sealed and unused and the seal to that software has now been broken; or (ii) you have used or have successfully downloaded the content of that software; or (iii) the Goods have been customised for you by us at your request. Goods should be returned to us as soon as reasonably practicable but in no event later than seven (7) days after your notification to us that you wish to cancel your order. Goods should be returned to us undamaged and in their original packaging. Any Goods that are returned and are violating these rules may be subject to a 25% handling charge with a minimum charge of £5.00.

If you purchase Goods from us acting in the course of business the above rights of cancellation do not apply to you. In this event and subject to your other rights of cancellation, cancellation of your order or the return of any Goods (which are not subject to our Returns & Refunds policy) may only be accepted after prior agreement with us. On no account can cancellation be accepted for items ordered specially by us on your behalf.
